This is great. I have a friend and teammate who is alive today only because of a bone marrow drive 12 years ago. A drive was held for a little boy. Unfortunately, no match was found and he died. But one of the people who joined the registry in hopes of matching this boy was a perfect match for my friend, Nicki. Even with the bone marrow transplant, her chances of survival were 5%. That was 12 years ago and 4 marathons ago for her.
