President-elect Barack Obama has nominated Dr. Sanjay Gupta for the role of Surgeon General, according to news reports. He is the medical correspondent for CNN, and a neurosurgeon. He came to the LIVESTRONG Summit in Columbus, OH this past July 2008, as part of a cancer panel working with the Summit Delegates to help make cancer a national priority.
